Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review | Oily Skin

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review | Oily Skin

What the brand says: Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel instantly quenches dry skin and keeps it looking smooth, supple and hydrated day after day. Our award-winning and best selling water gel formula absorbs quickly and instantly delivers intense hydration. And it contains hydrating hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin and acts as a sponge, absorbing up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This formula leaves skin more supple and smooth. Plus, it’s an oil-free moisturizer, so you can wear it alone or under makeup as a smooth, velvety primer.

Price & Availability: It is priced at ₹849 for 50g of product. It is available online at Amazon and Nykaa . Offline, you can find it in your local pharmacy or local store while sells Neutrogena products.

Packaging: The Neutrogena Hydro Boost comes in a bright blue plastic tub with a metallic blue twist up cap. The tub is not too huge and just about fits in the palm of the hands. The packaging feels quite sturdy and is travel friendly as well. I’m not too fond of products which come in a tub as I need to dig my fingers in it to take the product out and that can get a little unhygienic. Other than that, this tub looks nice and colourful sitting on the vanity!

Texture: Aptly named water gel, the texture of this Neutrogena moisturiser is a cross between water and gel. It feels extremely light and thin like water, but the consistency is that of a gel. It has a strong fragrance which may irritate some people, but it doesn’t linger. I don’t mind this as it smells quite fresh to me. The gel absorbs very easily into the skin.

Application & How I use it: As the Neutrogena Hydro Boost is a gel based moisturiser, it spreads very easily on the skin. Not a whole lot of product is required, which means that this will definitely last long. I usually scoop out a small dime size amount of it and apply it all over my face and neck. It gives a nice, cooling sensation when applied and absorbs very quickly! As the winters are approaching, my face tends to have a few dry patches. This gel instantly hydrates those patches and my skin feels soft and supple. It does not feel greasy on the face at all and gives a velvety finish to the skin.

My Overall Experience:

I tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel for about 3 weeks – applying it both day and night. I really liked this product. It moisturised my skin quite well, especially during this semi-cold season. This gel did not irritate my skin or clog my pores at all and I didn’t get any breakouts after using this. My face usually gets oily within 5-6 hours of me applying any moisturiser in the morning and this did not make it oilier any sooner. I applied this before makeup as well and it worked very well under that also. I prefer to use this in the morning as I feel I can apply something a little heavier at night.

I’m so happy I found this gem just at the right time. This is perfect everyday moisturiser for anyone with oily/combination skin. If you have dry skin, then this might not be moisturising enough for you. The price is slightly expensive when compared to other Neutrogena or drugstore moisturisers but I feel it’s worth the price. My skin has definitely been feeling more hydrated and soft ever since I’ve started using this.
