Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is definitely one of the most cult favourite foundations ever. It’s inexpensive, comes in a variety of shades (40 shades overall, but sadly only 15 in India), and it works for most skin types. Let’s see how it performs on my oily skin

Ideal for normal to oily skin, our exclusive matte foundation formula features micro-powders to control shine and blur pores. Pore minimizing foundation. Dermatologist tested. Allergy tested. Price & Availability: It is priced at ₹500 for 1 FL OZ. (but you can usually find it on a 20-30% discount on an online store). It is easily available online at Nykaa, Amazon and Flipkart. Offline, you can find it at Maybelline counters in Lifestyle Stores and Shoppers Stop. You can also get it in your local makeup store which has a Maybelline counter.
Shade: 332 Golden Caramel. It will suit tan skin tones with an olive or warm undertone. For shade reference I am NC 44 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid. You can check out my other Foundation shade matches here.
Packaging: The foundation comes in a clear glass bottle without any external packaging or box. It is compact and has a black screw-on cap which makes it travel friendly. However, the foundation does not have a pump. This leads to some product wastage and the application can be slightly messy.
Texture: The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation has a thin, runny texture which is definitely smooth. It is pretty lightweight and blends very well on the skin.
Application & Coverage: As I have a super oily skin with enlarged pores, I was really intrigued by the Matte + Poreless claims of the foundation. I applied this foundation on a clean, moisturised face with a damp beauty sponge. It applied very nicely and blended well on the skin giving it a smooth finish. The foundation has a medium coverage which is buildable and can be built up to a medium-full coverage.
As you can see in the pictures below, I had some acne marks on my cheeks when I tried on the foundation and it successfully covered most of them without too much product being required. I applied 2 layers of the foundation and it applied well without it looking cakey. This foundation dries down to a powder matte finish and oxidizes just a tad bit after drying down completely. It filled my pores to a great extent and my skin looked pretty smooth and even.
Flashback: This foundation passed the photo flash test and gave almost little to no flashback when I clicked a flash photo in low lighting from my phone.
Staying Power: Due to my excessively oily skin, I really need to set all my foundations with powder and I used the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in the shade 330 Toffee Caramel to set this foundation. The foundation stayed fresh for a good 4-5 hours after application after which my nose and forehead started getting oily. After 8 hours I noticed that my oils were coming through on my cheeks and upper lip area but they were easily blotted away with a blotting paper or a tissue.
My Overall Experience:
I really enjoyed using this foundation and I think the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless is an extremely nice everyday foundation for someone who has a combination to oily skin type. It might be a little drying for people with dry skin if the face is not moisturised extremely well.

So initially when I bought the foundation (as soon as it launched in India), there were only around 6-7 shades available and I grabbed the darkest one – 330 Toffee. However, that turned out have a reddish undertone and did not match me completely. When the next batch of shades was launched, I picked up the shade 322 Warm Honey and that was just one shade light for me but it looked fine once it blended into the skin and oxidised a little. As I’m always in the search for my perfect shade, I decided to give the shade one last try when the next batch of colours was launched and I got the shade 332 Golden Caramel and I FINALLY got the perfect one for me. The Maybelline Fit Me 332 Golden Caramel suits my skin tone perfectly.
